Mulberry Lace Chunky Cowl
Mulberry Lace Chunky Cowl

"Chunky yarn is something I've not played around with a whole lot, but when I saw this variegated color at Michael's last winter, I had to pick some up. However, It took almost a year to figure out that it was begging to be turned into a cowl, and not just any cowl, but a chunky cowl with hints of lace! Because this crochet pattern uses chunky yarn, and it works up quickly, it's a perfect project to make for yourself! The soft yarn and rich colors make this a piece that will work year after year–classy elegance that never goes out of style."

NotesYou must be comfortable working in the 3rd loop of the hdc. Instructions: Look at the top of the stitch, and locate the sideways “V”, bend the stitch to look at the back, and you should see another “V”. You’ll be working into the back loop of that “V”, this is called the 3rd loop.

I have this exact yarnI love the color combinationand have already worked up a hat. Now Ill have to go get a couple more and make this matching cowl. I love how the V and Shell Stitches worked into the pattern produce such a variety of textures. The instructions are easy to follow and nicely repetitive. No photos other than the finished project, but I didnt have any problem working up a sample swatch.

This looks so gorgeous and cozy! It would be a great pop of color over any neutral winter coat.

My mom would love this scarf! I know what I'm making her for Christmas

Another winner and great project by Kristin. Love her use of chunky yarns in various projects she does. I have got to start remembering to hit the yarn clearance sales in all the stores that I shop at. I think I have been missing on some goldmines by not doing that. I would love to have the talent of playing around with yarn and coming up with a winning design.
