I love this cascade of snowflakes! The above link goes to another craft site, but I easily found the original pattern at the Red Heart Yarn site (Falling Snowflakes Crochet Scarf LW2264) which is available as a free download. The designer indicates that the Red Heart Holiday Yarn is no longer available, but I did pick up another brand that has the metallic highlights.

I made this for a friend as a gift. She loved it. There are a lot of stitches, but once you do one or two on each row, it is repetitive until the next row. Easy to get into a rhythm. Any worsted will do. They can easily be done up in a couple of nights. I probably had 7 hours into it total. I didn't block mine, but think it could have benefited from that extra step.

A beautiful scarf, I've made several for gifts and everyone loves receiving one. I did modify the pattern a bit to make it easier to follow and I think it turned out better. I couldn't find the Red Heart yarn, so I used Bernat cotton Holiday yarn and it makes up beautifully. I do steam press the scarf when it's finished to make the snowflakes more recognizable.

I made this for my daughter Christmas 2012. Every time she wears it, someone comes up to her and raves over the scarf. One lady even begged me to make her one--it was Christmas, and somehow it seemed she really NEEDED that snowflake scarf, so........ It is a great pattern and great scarf and looks gorgeous on my daughter. Thanks for this incredible pattern.
