Functional Elegance Cowl
"The Functional Elegance Cowl was inspired by burlap and lace decorations. With this project you can show off your lace skills and stay warm at the same time because of the double layer of double crochet stitches. The pattern is a 8 stitch repeat so it is easy to adjust to your needs. Pick your two favorite colors in a light fingering yarn and by the end of the weekend you will have a beautiful new cowl to wear or give."

This is just gorgeous! I love the mixtures of textures and the color choice gives it a genuinely rustic look. The instructions themselves need some help, primarily in the form of photos or some sort of illustration. I can imagine the center strip and the lace, but Im a bit baffled by the directions for working under the lace. I may need to work up a small swatch before deciding to keep this one.

I cannot see how the Functional Elegance Cowl looks like because the finished cowl is not shown here but I'd like to believe that it is good based on the color used. Brown is one of my favorite colors so, yes. I guess this is a good cowl.

This is a very nice idea. And I do like the colors that were used. They were right marking it as an intermediate project. I gave been crocheting for 50 years so no problem for me. But I saw some things in the directions that may confuse a new crocheter.
