"Fall is in full bloom here and what better (and cuter) way to stay warm than with this Fox Scarf and Hat. I used a Half Double Crochet cluster stitch to create this beautiful texture. The hat can be worn with or without the cluster stitches visible. With the scarf, I added a loop and a button on the back side so you can secure the “tail” end either way. I used “I Love This Yarn” in Terra Cotta and White and just love the colors. Both can be worn by kids, teens and adults."

NotesIf you want to make your scarf longer, then just complete more repeat rows before starting the “forming the face” rows.

This is really clever and a lot more humane than the original fox fur stole. What a wonderful gift for a child or even adult animal lover. I love the idea of that shaped scarf because it would definitely cut down on the bulk. You could add a bow to make the fox face a bit more feminine if youd like. Do be warned that because of the Cluster Stitches, this will be a bit of a Yarn Hog but totally worth it.

A unique scarf and hat set. A novelty that we can actually WEAR without risking looking silly or stupid. The I Love This Yarn is a nice all purpose acrylic yarn that washes well and resists pilling. It works up softer than some other budget friendly yarns that I have worked with. Foxes are cute, of course they are!

I still haven't tried the I Love This Yarn so I'm curious about how it stacks up to some of my favorites. Is it similar to Red Heart Soft?
