I've never found it easy to work with fuzzy yarns. Hope the addition of a "flat" yarn will do the trick. Most of my crocheting friends just use eyelash yarns like the one called for here as a trim at the side or end of a piece, to avoid having to find stitches.

PLD... I'm sure you'll find it a lot easier. I tried making a chemo-cap out of eyelash yarn and gave up on the first row until I figured out that you need some regular yarn to "back it." Waaaaaay easier! I used the same technique with some new baby yarn I tried (Tizzy, i think it's called) and it helped with that too.
