"Gertie is a sweet shawl that features a diamond of mesh stitches in the center, and triangles of double crochet on the sides. It is then bordered with more mesh stitches and a small scalloped edging. There is plenty going on, but it is not too busy. You can easily make Gertie larger with more yarn, so it can fit just about anyone with any shawl size preference. I appreciate that the designer considers this an Easy project, but if youre going to appeal to Beginners looking to expand their skills, it wouldnt hurt to include some photos or even an instructional tutorial. Ive worked these triangle type shawls before, and those first few rows can be confusing without additional guidance. I was beginning to get pretty frustrated until I finally got the knack of this common technique.
