These hanger covers would be such a great way to recycle old hangers that have seen better days. There are so many different appliqus you could make in place of the heart, if you do not want to make the heart. Or, you could just leave it with nothing. If you do not want to spend a lot of time changing colors, it would be great if it was only in one color too.

Every so often I will see hangers like this when out at estate sales, flea markets or thrift shops and they usually show signs of wear. This is the perfect way to up-cycle them and give those hangers a new life. I usually would not buy them if they looked beat up but mow I do not have that as an excuse any longer.

Those are cute! The link works fine. It takes you to the website that has the pattern for free. Unfortunately, you cant view the pattern but instead you have to download it first. Im guessing its ok to do so. The website looks like its established. I do prefer to be able to look over a pattern before I download it though.

These crochet hanger covers are priceless. I can remember when my Grandmohter had crochet hanger covers in her closet. I thouht they were the bee's knees. (lol) Once I begin something it is really hard to stop. I don't think I will ever have enough for my closet so these may be nice to give as a gift when an article of clothing is given. Too cute

I remember having these crochet hanger covers in my closet as a child. They bring back fond memories of my childhood. Aside from being an adorable accessory, they're actually quite an improvement upon your standard plastic or wire hangers. The yarn crocheted around the hanger adds a padding, which in turn helps to protect whatever item of clothing you're using the hanger for. I might even still have some left from years ago. Does anyone have any of these from their childhood? I had always wondered how they were made, and now, I can make my own!

These are cute hangers! I did find that crocheting about 56 chains and then sc 55 for about 8 to 20 rows makes a much quicker hanger if you are in a hurry! when finished crocheting i find the middle by folding in half place piece over hook and whip stitch along the bottom to finish - of course great for horizontal stripes - not hte cute verticle stripes!
