Star Spangled Trivet and Hot Pad
"What do you call that thing you put under hot dishes to protect the table? Trivet? Hot pad? The world seems divided! But united we stand, and the Star Spangled Trivet (or Hot Pad!) is ready to stand up to whatever you dish out - and look festive while doing it! Made with bright washable Kitchen Cotton, this free trivet pattern will perk up your table for years to come! It starts with a mesh base, and then the “wiggles” are added to create the fun 3D look - and keep your counters and tables safe!"

I am not sure witch size is the prettiest. If you ask me, the top wiggles are pretty but the back of the pad is also pleasing to look at. This design in a star is perfect to have in the patriotic kitchen at any time. Thanks for sharing the free pattern.

Any time you can take a project like this and make it for use in the kitchen, and it can easily be a piece of kitchen decor is a plus. This is pretty enough just to hand on a wall and never be used as a trivet.

I want to make this for hostess gifts, yes I do. My mom would love a couple of these to throw on her kitchen counter for our summer barbecue family get togethers. Now, do we use it with the wiggle side up or down? Either way? This is such a uniquely designed trivet, and I just love Moogly and her creative visions.

This is a wonderful little patriotic project. It looks very complicated, but since you work the star shaped base first, its not that hard. Ive collected several similar projects from Mooglyblog. The patterns are well written, and while there arent many photos for this particular project, there is a link to her tutorial on Wiggle It projects in general. Free .pdf download, too!

How fun does this Star Spangled Trivet and Hot Pad look. I have never done the wiggle crochet before and I'm thankful for the short video on how to do it. This pattern is very well written and with the video and pictures to help guide I'm sure it will work out fine. Now all I have to do is go buy the cotton yarn, I'm sure any thing other then cotton would melt. Saved this one on my Must do list. Thank you so much fof this free crochet pattern.

This is such a unique hot pad! It would be a fun pattern to make for a day of watching the Olympics.
