"Create these cute Sunny Day crochet coasters! The coaster works in the round and has a delightful shell boarder resembling the sun. Very cute for Summer! This project uses a size H crochet hook and 100% cotton yarn (I used Peaches & Creme in “Sunshine”. 1, 2.5 oz. skein makes 5 coasters. The finished coaster measures 5″ X 5″. A fun coaster sure to brighten up any table. Quick to work up. Enjoy the free pattern!"

Summers nearly here, and you can never have enough coasters for those picnics and parties. This cute design would be perfect for a hostess giftyou just need to work up a small basket or you could tie a stack together with contrasting ribbon. Our local farmers markets are beginning to open again, and craft booths are always welcome additions to the other homegrown goodies.

In a couple of the photos the color looks pale. I am assuming it is the more saturated yellow, which is a good thing. I would almost like to add a slip stitch border all the way around in a bright orange for contrast. A set of five is an odd amount, so buy two skeins of the cotton and make 10 -)

Coasters are such a great way to protect your furniture from scratches. They can also be used as facial scrubbers or other ways around the house. These are so bright and sunny that I see how they got their name. Make sure to use cotton yarn as it is the most absorbent.
