"This crochet pattern is fun. The Pineapple has such a rich history, and symbolizes hospitality. This “Welcome Home Pineapple Basket” is one of three designs in my “Welcome Home Pineapple Collection. Use Cotton yarn and a "G" hook to make this sweet design. It will look wonderful on your table this summer at a luau party to hold little candies or treats. You could also use it to hold plastic dinner ware and napkins. The crown on the pineapple is so pretty, and I have added a chart to make it easy for you to crochet."

One of my daughters loved pineapples so much, she vowed shed marry a pineapple farmer and move to Hawaii when she grew up. She didnt quite make it, but pineapples are still her favorite fruit. This basket is really cute, but if you dont want to use the doubled up cotton yarn, you might try the Caron One Pound instead. Its already fairly thick to begin with.

I know a little lady that would love some of these. My favorite Aunt! She lived in Hawaii for several years while her husband was stationed there while in the Air Force. She loves everything pineapple. I try to make her little things here and there just because. These would be a simple gift for her or as a hostess gift.
