"Are you a pin addict? Wondering what to do with them when you’re not wearing them? With this crochet pin banner / pennant you can enjoy them every day. The great thing about a crochet banner is that the holes are built in by design so no wrecking the material with the pointy bits like on some fabric banners! This is a super simple pattern using only single crochet and a few slip stitches. Perfect for a beginner. I have used a variegated colourway, but the pattern will work with any yarn so this is ideal for stash busting too!"

    Beginner

Crochet HookI/9 or 5.5 mm hook

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Finished Size14in long by 9 in wide - easy to alter

    Additional Materials

You will need to use something as a bar to secure the top of the banner and hanging. I used a chop stick but a knitting needle, doweling or a stick from the garden or park would also look great!

    Embellishments

I have added a pom pom to my banner. You can leave it simple or add pom poms or tassels to add some extra features!

I dont have any pins (I collect squished pennies instead), but I will check with my grandkids to see if any of them might. I can see working one of these up in Cub Scout colors (Navy and Yellow), and this would be great place to display past pins and patches, not to mention anything collected at a jamboree. So if you have some Scouts in your life, this might make a great gift.
