"This project proves you can crochet with just about any kind of material if you have the right size needle. In this case, a plastic clothes line was used to crochet little baskets which are extremely durable and very practical at the same time. These are perfect for the hallway to keep little items like keys which get easily misplaced or lost. The basket is a little stiffer to crochet because of the wire in the core, but it is not difficult. A small basket like this one was finished in under an hour."

This is a really clever use for clothesline cord but sadly, no colored line around here, only white! But it did bring to mind that Bernat Outdoor yarn. It looks similar, but Ill bet it will work up even easier than the clothesline. It comes in all sorts of colors, too, so it would be easy to match your dcor. Im still leaning toward neon green or orange for my house though. Dont want to basket to disappear, too!

I am sorry about that. In this case, the word "clothesline" was used because that was the material used to crochet the basket. I see how that could be misunderstood. That was definitely not my intention. Thank you also for your kind words!

I am slightly disappointed to learn that this in fact is not a basket to store clothespins-- like the name says clothesline catchall basket. But oh well, it's an nice and useful item to have around the house! I have never worked with clothesline while crocheting before, so this will be a first.
