Crochet Canadian Flag
"Canada Day is just around the corner and I haven't forgotten even though I'm in Kentucky! Canada Day is one day a year where I truly feel like I'm missing out if I'm not home. And, I haven't been home to celebrate it there in about 10 years! Sad face! Last year was even the 150 celebration and I stayed up trying to find coverage of it here in the US but nada! Sad face x2! Anyway, Canada Day aside - if you're Canadian, you know how useful a Canadian flag is to have.... mostly for traveling! This one is so simple to make and that you can really work up a few of them and give them out as party favours or to use as decorations. I am going to attach this one to my travel bag :) And, I admit, I had way too much fun making this. It made me smile the entire time!"

While I appreciate the designers efforts, I honestly dont think this looks that much like the Canadian flag. I can see using the maple leaf motif all by itself as an appliqu though. I use appliqus all the time, and even having this as an actual maple leaf would be handy. I can work it up in other fall colors and stack them, too.

Nowhere does it say how large (or small) this flag measures. It's neat. I like it. It is unexpected. I can see many ways to make use of this flag. Use it to embellish an existing tote bag that you crocheted, use it to make a pillow cover to celebrate the holiday, or just to give to friends, I suppose!
