What a pretty Christmas stocking. I am not sure how easy the snowflake portion of this pattern will be. I may just continue all the way to the top with the red and add some frilly fringes to the top. I guess what makes it so special is the snowflake but I have never used these crochet technique before.

I actually just bought a pair of cabin socks in this exact same pattern. Now I know what Ill be wearing Christmas Eve! Ill be sure to wear my new socks while hanging up my new stocking by the fireplace. I had already decided to go with a more Nordic theme for my decorations this year, and this red and white stocking will go perfectly. Ill work it in reverse colors (white with red trim) for my husband, too.

I am hoping I can make at least one of these prior to Christmas. I like to ad new decorations and last year I decided I wanted to add some new stockings to the mantel. It would be so much easier to go buy them but I like to make as many items as I can.

Another Fair Isle pattern to try! However, even if I chickened out with the Fair Isle part of it, I do like the basic stocking pattern offered. It can be made in just a solid color with the white toe, or I can change it up and make stripes like an elf. I appreciate how the pattern is flexible like that.
