These Bake Me a Cake Crocheted Cupcakes are completely adorable! Set these out under a glass cake plate as placeholders between baking days, then simply replace when you have fresh baked goods to display. These no cal cuties would make a wonderful addition to a little girls tea party. The project is made in two separate piecesthe cake and the frostingand then stuffed and sewn together. Be sure to add any decorations to the frosting before sewing together as it will be much easier to make sure theyre secure. You could even add a flower and candle in the center for a birthday cupcake, too.

I think these are just great. Your color combinations are endless. I would have to make a yellow cake bottom on some too. I have a cute and easy pattern for brownies and chocolate chip cookies to put with these as a table decoration . My grand daughter also uses them when she has her tea parties at grandmas house.

Will have to do this again, but I think working this pattern in rounds, instead of continuously, might be the better option. So for each round, be sure to join and chain 1 (except for the 'frill' edging of the cupcake top). Otherwise, a great, simple pattern. Might be better rated as 'easy' instead of intermediate. And you can whip up a dozen of these faster than baking a batch from scratch. And less mess in the kitchen, too.
