Slouchy Spiral Hat
This Slouchy Spiral Hat has a unique look when you use multiple colors while working it up. As you follow the crochet instructions you'll start to notice a spiral pattern emerging. The crochet hat is worked side to side instead of top to bottom.

I tried this pattern and had a bit of trouble following the pattern with the ends. But I understood the idea and worked up my own pattern. I made two other changes. I started at the top and left a three inch piece of yarn at the beginning and ending of each color change. These pieces became part of the fringe when I tied the hat top together. Also I used double crochet throughout and reduced to half double and single as I came near the top to reduce what needed to be drawn together to close the top. I found this hat to be too "short" and would increase the number of starting chains by at least 2 inches to cover the ears.
