It has just the right amount of slouchy stretch to allow you to style it loosely without cementing your hair to your face. Plus, the texture is a perfect mix of classic and contemporary. This pattern is super simple and is great for all levels. Plus, as a perk, it can be transformed into a messy bun hat as well."

NotesThe pattern is worked from the top down. Starting chains/turning chains count as stitches. You will not turn your work. Throughout R3, you will notice your work getting wavy. It should be.

This is a v-stitch variation of 2 double crochets worked between 2 double crochets. You may choose one of two ways to finish the hat- with or without the band. The instructions for those start at R5.

This very basic hat is a step up from a Beginner beanie. The designer says that this hat can be worked as a Messy Bun version as well, but she doesnt give the instructions for that. She does, however, include instructions for finishing that hat either with a band or without. Dont be distracted by the embedded video as that has nothing to do with this particular project. However if you do make shawls or scarves, her toggle ideas are very nice.

What is cool about this beanie is the fact that it measures a full 24" in circumference. That would be technically considered a large. But she has found a way to create a stitch that is a little bit tighter but not too tight, and with the added circumference measurement, it creates a beautifully stretchy hat that will not ruin your hair style. Two thumbs up for that!
