Criss-Cross Chunky Crochet Beanie
From the blogger: "A free chunky yarn crochet pattern that teaches you how to make a knit look crochet hat. The crossed half double crochet stitch adds a gorgeous texture that replicates the look of knitting. This stitch almost has a knit look, my favorite. It’s also a really simple stitch pattern that uses basic crochet stitches. I love chunky yarn crochet patterns because the results are quick. Add a big faux fur pompom to the top of this adult crochet beanie."

Were expecting a big drop in temperatures next week, so I wanted to work up this beanie using some extra chunky yarn I had sitting around. I love the Criss Cross stitch anyway. Im happy to report it worked up super fast even though I was watching TV and taking my time. Im not really into fur, so I opted to leave off the pompon for now.

I LOVE this baby beanie! The color is perfect for fall and winter, and any time a hat has a pom pom, it makes me love it even more.

I really like the knit-look of this beanie! The stitch is so pretty, and I haven't tried anything like it before.

So many modern yet vintage chunky beanies out there for me to try. The best part for me is the faux fur pompom that is added to the top. That right there elevates it to a whole new level. Very different than a yarn pom. I will have so much fun picking out a coordinating color. A deep claret red hat with a black/gray ombre fur pom would do just fine! I'd probably not choose to spend my money like this, so I'll be using an alternative super bulky yarn in its place. No biggie.
