"My favorite sunhats have wide, slightly wavy brims so I designed this hat to have a wider, slightly wavy brim. But, if you prefer a more narrow brim, you can easily adjust its width. There's nothing better to keep the sun off your face and out of your eyes in the summer than a wide brim sunhat. This classic style will coordinate with any outfit. Make a lace tie in several colors to coordinate further. :)"

What a wonderful wide brimmed hat. This is just perfect for the beach or just when out and about during the harsh summer months. I agree that making more than just one of these would not be a bad thing. Thanks for the free pattern and all the hits and tips.

Very lovely hat pattern. This sunhat is the perfect matching accessory to the beach day cover up that is included with the CAL from the bloggers site. Love that this hat has such a wide and wavy brim to keep the sun out of your eyes and also block some from your shoulders.

I have been wanting to make a hat like this for quite some time now, but I was never sure how I could do it so that the brim would keep its shape properly. I never thought about using wire and joiners. This opens up so many new options. Thank you for sharing!

Even though I do not like wearing anything on my head I just LOVE this hat! My wonderful friend, Heather, is going to love it even more than I do AND she always looks gorgeous in hats so is going be ravishingly beautiful in it, lol! Actually I have not made a hat before (if we discount the beret I knitted in Grade 4!) so it is going to be a lovely learning project too.

I like wearing a wide brim hat while gardening and this hat will be a nice addition to my hat collection. I really like the look of this Beach Day Sunhat. After reading the written pattern and watching the video on how to use the wire for the brim, I so have to make it. The pattern is well written and easy to understand and it uses a finer weight yarn which is a plus for a sun hat making it not to heave or hot to wear. Now to figure out what color to make mine out of? Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.
