Basic Ponytail Headband/Earwarmer
"Here's a super quick and easy pattern for a Basic Ponytail Headband/ Earwarmer for the ladies with long hair who may not necessarily want to wear a hat but still want to keep their hair out of the way and their ears toasty warm this coming fall and winter months. This pattern is sure to be a hit for the alternative Messy Bun/Ponytail Hat. Easily adaptable for a tween/teen; make in a multiple of colors, your favorite animal or in the spirit of the season - Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and/or Valentine's Day!!! Enjoy..."

I completely agree with Hippie ChickIve never seen anything like this either. I love the designers use of a ponytail elastic at the beginning of the project. The instructions are easy to follow and have enough photos to illustrate the pertinent parts of the pattern. I can see myself making several of these clever hairbands up for gifts!

What to make for a niece in the North with long hair? I can't afford to buy them all something so I make things. For the little ones, it's easy. A crochet toy or hat. But for a teen it's different. I made a cell phone holder and now she can keep her ears warm without messing up her pretty long hair.

This is quite unique. I have never seen anything like it before now. You get three accessories in one, a ponytail holder, a headband, and an ear warmer. The down side is that you always have to wear three items at once so this is best for a colder climate. Looks so easy to do and would make great Christmas gifts.
