The English Garden Afghan Square is a crochet granny square that features rows of unique stitches and bright, vivid colors. This crochet square would make a perfect accent square in a crochet granny square afghan, and would look great in any color.
From the Designer: "This square is gorgeous! It has a decidedly geometrically organized look, like a formal english garden and the color combinations just speak of the blooms in a garden. Of course you can make it in as many or few colors as you like since the square also has nice texture. Pair it with simple solid squares for a truly elegant throw."

This is a beautiful twelve inch afghan square. From the outer edge to the center there is a load of texture and design elements that would bring a lot to any project with this English garden afghan. I can not believe that there are only four colors that get this magnificent square.

The pattern for this English garden 12" afghan square is breath taking to say the least. I am dazzled at the fact that is was accomplished with only four different colors. There is not a thing that I would change for this pattern. It is perfect just the way it is. Thanks for sharing this free pattern.

Im also an avid gardener although most of my plantings are edibles rather than just ornamental. These gorgeous squares are just charming and almost look like square mandelas. I love the jewel tones, toothey remind me of the vibrant colors of my Summer annuals. Since this square is already large (12 inches), I would be tempted to just keep going and make it even bigger!
