Im making this now using 4ply yarn and hook stated and mine is a lot bigger.

Hi Wife228, I'd recommend checking your gauge! If you are a loose crocheter, you may need to size down to a smaller hook to obtain the gauge for this pattern, which is "8 sts x 5 rows in dc = 4 square." If you're not familiar with gauge, we have a helpful guide about it here: https://www.allfreecrochet.com/Basics/What-is-Gauge-in-Crochet. I hope this helps! - Laura, editor of AllFreeCrochet

I'm making this now. The picture of the cocoon looks like it's tighter than the one I'm making. My gauge is slightly larger than the recommended gauge. Would somebody tell me if the cocoon is a tight weave? Slightly loose? I have "air holes" in mine, for lack of a better word. Thanks a lot. I want it to be really good.

Very beautiful baby cocoon. I love the color that is unique for a baby's set of accessories. Far from the usual pink, blue, yellow, white baby colors. This is awesome.

This is a nice, basic design for a baby cocoon and matching hat. Just straightforward Double Crochet without any fancy twists or stitches to fuss over. Heres a chance to make that specially patterned yarn really shine because thats whats going to attract the attention here. The actual pattern is so simple and repetitive that for once, additional photos arent even needed.

Awww! This is the cutest cocoon and just perfect for baby Billy who is already 3 months old but was born a whole month before due date. The colors are just beautiful although I have not seen Cascade Yarns here in South Africa. Hopefully it is available online otherwise my wonderful (and very patient!) local yarn store will have to find me a suitable substitute befitting of teeny little Billy!

This is such a pretty and cute little set! It would be perfect for any baby shower, and you could change the color theme depending on the mom-to-be's favorite color.
