These are both just too easy and too cute. I read the directions and checked out the pictures and they are so helpful and easy to follow. I agree with another poster. Even the boys, if done in a pastel color would work for a baby girl too. Thanks so much for posting.

If youre new to making baby shoes, this is a great pattern to start with. The designer gives a very thorough explanation of how the sole is worked, both right and left, and how to attach the double layer. The rest of the pattern is divided into specifics for the top of the shoes (girl or boy versions). There are plenty of photos to guide the crafter, and theres a link to a free .pdf download near the top.

I cant decide which of these to make. Do I pick the booty for the boy or the booty for the girl? I cant make up my mind so I think that I will just make them both since they take such little yarn and they work up so quickly. Great tutorial that is very easy to understand.

To be honest with you, even the booties that are labeled for "boy", well, they'd look just as cute for your little girl. It is just more coverage and perhaps a little more warmth. I see that there is a contrasting color added to the bottom of the bootie, creating an outsole! How cute is that?! This is the first time I have seen a baby bootie made like this.
