Crochet granny squares are joined together to create this beautiful cowl!

From the blogger: "The Floral Granny Cowl is a quick and easy project made up of 16 small granny squares joined together with a simple braided cable. This project includes a video tutorial for creating the squares and helpful hints for joining. Techniques you will need to know are chaining, single crochet, and double crochet. The finished cowl is approximately 30 inches long and 7 inches wide as written, but to create an infinity scarf you can connect all 16 squares end-to-end for a longer, thinner scarf."

Lovely, oh so lovely! Granny squares have been a long time favorite of mine. Minis. full sized ones, and giant granny squares for afghans. I love this cowl neck scarf for the coloration and the fact that it is double sided. I made a granny square scarf for myself well over 15 years ago and I still wear it every fall to keep the bright feeling of summer alive. The colors are lilac, blue smoke, hot pink, orange, green, fuschia. But mine is not double sided! I may have to change that.

This is such a nice use of granny squares, and I love the cabled join. Ive never heard of it before, so I was anxious to watch the recommended video. It does help the written instructions to make much more sense. Be advised that the pattern for the squares is accessed by another link. No real inconvenience unless you dont like additional steps.

The color choice for this floral granny square crochet cowl are beautiful. I have worked with Unforgettable yarn before when I made an afghan recently. It is an easy yarn to work with and granny squares are easy to make. The only thing that I do not like is having to join them together after they have been made. Pattern is very easy to understand and pictures provided do help.
