Super-easy pattern that works up really well. I used two skeins of Willow Vines (discontinued, sadly) and only used four rows. The cowl turned out perfectly and I couldn't be happier with the pattern.

I adore this cowl for its color, I really love the color mustard. I also like the chunkiness and the stitches used in this attention-getting cowl.

Heres another project that could easily be worked up to be unisex. I would start with a Foundation Half Double and work the rest of the pattern from there. I have seen that same Collegiate yarn at JoAnns, but I think ours may carry it year round. There is a nice embedded instructional video, too, and the .pdf is available for a modest fee.

Only 11 rows and you are done! This is a great pattern to work up in a hurry for yourself or to give as a gift. The stitches worked in the back of the loops only give it a nice mock rib look. The pattern is very easy to follow, and the designer has included a video for people who prefer watching to reading.

I think you could make these in your pro or college colors for both women-the infinity scarf design- and for men, just leave it unjoined at the ends. It would look cool in stripes as well. And with only the half double crochet, this will work up very quickly for those last minute gifting needs. Love!

I love the texture of this chunky cowl! With the super bulky/super chunky yarn and big hook it should work up quickly. I like simple patterns like this that I can pick up and put down and not have to worry about where I was. I think it would look great in almost any solid color.
