I guess there are so very many patterns I will want to try that are offered up here on All Free Crochet. This Big Bold Chevron Cowl offers me a chance to use my skills in treble crochet to work up this dual colored (but three different looks!) open weave cowl. With just two skeins of yarn it is affordable as well. It would be smart in a navy and garnet color scheme, too! Please don't feel like you have to stick with what the designer has shown in the pictures. Use your imagination and let your creativity take the reigns. Good luck and have fun!
