"This pattern is for a beautiful Cherry Blossoms. Cherry flowers are so beautiful and gentle. Their colors vary from deep pink to white. You can use any variation of colors you like for the flower center and petals. You also can decorate the center of the flower with beads of your choice. Materials: crochet cotton threads size 10 in light pink for the petals and burgundy red for the flower center, crochet hook 1.8 mm. Finished size: flower is about 1-1/8” (3 cm) in diameter."

My Army Vet son was just asking me about the famous cherry blossoms in Washington, DC. He remembered making a field trip there while in high school, and despite the museums and monuments, the cherry blossoms were what he remembered the most. I think I might work a bunch of these up and surprise him for his birthday this month!
