Ilana MacDonald
Ilana MacDonald is a doctoral student studying Astrophysics at the University of Toronto. She learned to crochet from her mother in her early twenties to be able to make cool things for herself that she couldn't seem to find in the stores. Crafting soon became a way to combat the stress of a university education, and she soon taught herself to knit and make jewelry as well. Most of her original designs are born when she can't seem to find a pattern elsewhere.

Just had to laugh. Many years ago my dream was to become an astrophysicist. My parents couldn't afford a big school, so I became an artist instead. Now I love to learn in retirement more about the universe.
