Draw String Gift Bag

Crochet HookE/4 or 3.5 mm hook
Yarn Weight(3) Light/DK (21-24 stitches to 4 inches)
Instructions
To Start Make a magic ring Row 1: CH 3, 15 DC into the ring, join with a SL into top of CH 3. Pull ring closed tight. Row 2: CH 6 * 1 TRC in the next stitch, CH 2* Repeat from * to * until the end of the row, join with a SL in the 4 chain of the starting chain. Row 3: CH 1, 3 SC into each of the CH 2 spaces, join with SL into first SC Row 4: CH 1, 1 SC into the same stitch as the SL into the back loop. 1 SC into the rest of the stitches back loops only. Join with a SL into the first SC. Row 5: Repeat row 4 Row 6: CH 1, 1 DC into the same stitch as the SL back loops, 1 DC into the rest of the stitches back loops only. Join with a SL into the first DC.. Row 7: Repeat Row 6 but in both loops. Row 8: CH 4 *skip 1 stitch, 1 DC into next stitch CH 1* Repeat between * and * to end of row, SL into 3rd chain of starting CH Row 9: CH 1, 2 HDC into the first stitch, skip the CH 1 space, *2 HDC into the next stitch, Skip CH 1 space* Repeat between * and * until the end of the row, SL into the first HDC Row 10,11,12: Repeat row 4 Row 13: CH 1, 1 DC in to the CH as the slip stitch, 1 DC into all stitches in the row, join SL into the first DC Row 14, 15, 16: Repeat row 8 Row 17: CH 1, 1 SC into the same stitch as SL, 1 SC into first CH 1 space, * 1 SC into next stitch, 1 SC in next CH1 space* repeat between * and * until the end of the row. Join with a SL into first SC Row 18: SL into each stitch around
The draw string
I used a traditional 3 strand plait with a bead secured at the end, but you could use an Icord or just a single strand of wool.

I just sent a bespoke headband to one of my toddler granddaughters, and her teen brother asked if I could work up something for him. I know hes into gaming because hed asked before about a pouch for his dice. Now all I need to do is ask what color yarn he wants. I may even make another for his brother, and put their initials on each bag. Always glad to make something for the grands!
