Crochet Cactus Home Decor

"These little crochet cacti are a perfect way to use up your yarn scraps. They are made using basic crochet stitches and techniques. There are several types of cactus included in the instructions. They are a economical way to decorate your home with greenery. No green thumb required. These little cacti require no maintenance. That means they will always be in bloom. The best part is the they are "ouchie" free. Enjoy!"

NotesThese little cactus can be made using all the same color of green yarn. I do find that using several shades making each cactus a different hue works best. This gives the cactus a more realistic look. Purchasing your glass container (the one I used is found in the candle section of Dollar Tree store) and pebbles from the dollar store makes this a beautiful and economical project.

I put my on a window sill and it looks perfect.

Several family members live in the desert Southwest, so Im always collecting small souvenirs to tuck into my curio cabinet. I have Kachinas, pottery and even a small Navajo rug, but not a single cactus. Im going to work one up as a saguaro cactus, another as a barrel, and the third as a nopal (prickly pear). The designer has posted a wonderful instructional video, too.

I love this pattern! It is so easy to make. Do not be fooled when looking at the picture. You can do this. Especially because she gives us a full YouTube tutorial that is 25 minutes long. Spend an extra $2 for the bag of pebbles and the glass container, and you've got a super gift for a girlfriend. That is what I AM going to do!
