This would crochet up very quickly and it has a different stitch pattern which keeps it from looking like ordinary crochet - not that it is a bad thing. It has heavier yarn but does not give the appearance due to the open stitch. You can never have too many blankets in the winter. Thank you.

This is a lovely pattern. Looks so warm makes me wanna snuggle on the sofa in front of the fireplace and Netflix and chill with a glass of wine. Just priced this yarn online and WOW it is 8.50 / skein and this projects requires 16 skeins. We are looking at $136 just for the yarn for this blanket. There is no way that I could afford that. I wish I could get compt free yarn from the yarn companies!

Using Super Bulky yarn and a huge size crochet hook this lovely afghan is going to take no time at all to make. And all us busy parents just love quick, easy and beautiful projects, do we not? I have not ever seen Lion Brand Color Clouds yarns in South Africa but I am pretty sure they will be available online or I will simply have to find a local substitute in the same gorgeous colors shown in the pattern.

I am loving this pattern and the look of the completed afghan! These are represent some of my favorite colors, too, so it really speaks to me. I know the yarn is super soft, lofty, and stretchy. So even though the afghan is made using an open weave stitch I think it will keep you warm regardless. I think even the dog would fight the kids over this one.

This Weekend Weather Afghan reflects the changing weather pattern in the Midwest reflecting the colors gray, green and sky blue immortalized in this afghan. This afghan is not so think, the design has many holes in it which was probably meant to be used for not so chilly weather. This can be a great as gift for someone who uses a wheelchair or for someone who just stays home a lot.
