Twinkle Star Afghan
Twinkle, twinkle, little afghan! This unique crochet afghan pattern definitely stands out from the others not only because of it's five-pointed star shape, but also because it literally sparkles. Red Heart Reflective yarn is used to crochet The Twinkle Star Afghan, so it lights up when you take a picture of it using a flash. This five-pointed crochet afghan pattern is worked up using the Jacob's Ladder technique, which also adds a 3D effect or a hypnotic look to the crochet pattern. Choose any two colors you want to crochet this star shaped afghan, and make it any size you want.

The instructions for the basic star shaped afghan are pretty straightforward, but I am also baffled by the special Jacobs Ladder instructions. Ive looked and looked at the photos and read and reread the text, and I still dont get it. I did find a tutorial on YouTube (https//www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHJTB4B6Lpw) but Im not sure if this is what the designer is talking about.

Wow I am so confused! After reading the written pattern, I don't know how it makes a star? I'm just going to have to try this one and see. I have never hear of the Jacobs' Ladder technique so I'll be learning something new. Always a good thing! LOL I need to find some sweet colors to make mine and just work this one step by step and hope it works out. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet Twinkle Star Afghan pattern.

The Twinkle Star afghan or the Jacobs Star Afghan as titled on the designers blog site is a free crochet pattern by Crochet Treasures. It is a baby blanket and it combines ripples with the Jacobs Ladder technique. I will have to brush up on that technique because I have not worked it before. This is made with Red Heart Reflective yarn.

Our 8 year old daughter did double back flips when she saw this Twinkle Star Afghan and she has already chosen the colors she wants. Then she called her best friend and now it seems that I am going to be making two, lol! I think I am going to make it a little bigger, because of the size of the 8 year olds, but that is going to be really easy to do. The design is so unusual and I can not wait to see the finished afghan.
