Patriotic Star Granny Square
"I used these cute Patriotic Star Granny Squares as dishcloths, so I made them out of 100% cotton, using Lily Sugar n Cream yarn. They could also be used as afghan squares, and could be done in a variety of different colors. Make a bunch and utilize the granny squares as dishcloths, washcloths, oversized coasters (or “mug rugs”), blanket squares, and more. The written pattern is free on the blog, so grab your crochet hook and ENJOY!"

Simply put, these granny square stars are everything. I bet I could construct an entire kitchen decor theme using these star squares. For instance, a table runner or a shorter centerpiece, coasters, placemats, even a fruit basket- not to mention the dishcloths and scrubbies! Red, white, and blue are not only patriotic but very "country" in design.

My best friend named her baby girl Star and I have a tendency to give Star all types of gifts that are star oriented. Guess what Star will be getting for her next birthday? She will be eight in January and I have just enough time to make one of these in the size that will fit a twin bed.

You will get a great crochet technique work out if you select to crochet this patriotic star granny square. From the magic circle to single on up to triple crochet. This may not be a pattern for a true beginner but the results are stunning. Who says that it has to be crocheted in red, white and blue?

I already have this star pattern, but didnt have the patriotic granny square. Wouldnt these look cute as part of a banner, especially worked up in a J or K size hook? Stitch them together lengthwise, and youd have a very unique table runner for your 4th of July picnic table. I just love projects like thesethey really spark the imagination!

Oh, nice square. Very patriotic looking. Wish I had seen this about a month ago so I could have whipped up a few of these for some Fourth of July snazz. Squares are so quick and easy to make and can be used for so many different things at home, the office, or at school. Love that these are made with cotton.
