Heart of Gold Medal
"This pattern came about from a conversation about the cyber-bullying during this year’s Olympics. No matter what critics (or even fans) might say, you know what really matters is what’s in your heart. If you know someone who has a heart of gold, show them you see it with this special gold medal. This is an easy pattern, made in several pieces and seamed together. It's a fun way to use up some scraps, and is great for kids too!"

What a wonderfully sweet idea! I can think of all sorts of occasions to hand these out. Our Senior Center highlights a special person or couple in the monthly newsletter, so why not a Heart of Gold Senior as well? We have several who are active in the volunteer community or go out of their way to help others on a casual basis. These scrapbusters would make great bazaar sellers, too.
