Vintage Crochet Apron
"I have always loved these Vintage Crochet Aprons. They just make me happy. I’ve wanted to make one for so long, and I finally decide to just go for it. I’ve included some holiday colors for the stripes to make it seasonal, but you can use any colors you would like. Enjoy! Size: 15″ across top, 15″ long Yarn: Aunt Lydia’s Crochet Thread size 10, 100% mercerized cotton White 0001 – 2 balls, 82 g Natural/Gold 0229G – 1 ball, 20 g Forest Green 0449 – 1 ball, 12 g Victory Red 0494 – 1 ball 20 g Hook: US-7, 1.5mm Gauge: 36 sts x 17 rows = 4” [10 cm] in dc."
Crochet Hook7 or 1.65 mm hook (steel)
Yarn Weight(0) Lace (33-40 stitches to 4 inches). Includes crochet thread.
Crochet Gauge36 sts x 17 rows = 4” [10 cm] in dc

This is just gorgeous, and I wish I had the time and eyesight to work this project up. I just cant work that #10 thread with a #7 hook any more, so I may experiment with some #3 thread and a D or E hook. It might even work with larger cotton if I can modify the pattern. This is definitely an heirloom project that will be cherished throughout the generations.

I am a lover of all things vintage and beautiful. I applaud her work at creating this outstanding vintage looking apron pattern. I like to wear an apron like this tied on my upper body like a halter top, wrapped around under my arms. It covers where I always make a mess and spill something. I would not wear this cooking a red sauce pasta, though! This is great for collectors who want to add to their stash. Perhaps It is more of a hostess apron for serving drinks or appetizers.
