I am all for comfortable headbands. They can become uncomfortable as the day wears on. As the ears for the cat may not be appropriate for everyone, I like the idea of making a cover.

Cute. This could easily be a last minute costume for Halloween. Perhaps it is just a fashion statement for someone with a lot of personality.

A friend recently returned from a 6 month teaching experience in Japan. While there, his teenage girls adopted the popular Kitten fad, including headbands very similar to these. This is a great pattern because you work the cover piece up separately, then physically attach it to the band. Much easier than trying to crochet around a wide band. The ears are double thick, too, which makes them stand up very nicely.

Cat ear headband is a great idea that serves a dual purpose. It can give some padding to those awful hard plastic headbands that are so uncomfortable and it can give you a different look. A thirty minute project that uses so little resources. A great project for girls scouts and bible school crafts.
