Light Me Up Christmas Tree Hat
"The Light Me Up Christmas Tree Hat is full of whimsy and fun! A simple and easy pattern! This hat is really fun decorated with fairy lights but could also have miniature decorations or beads added to jazz it up a little! I have included a video tutorial on my website to show you how to sew the tree shut, crochet on the garland, sew the star and add fairy lights. The pattern as written fits an average size adult head but could be easily resized adjusting the starting foundation row. Pattern could be made into a tabletop decoration by filling with poly fil and crocheting a simple circle for the bottom and sewing it shut"
Crochet HookI/9 or 5.5 mm hook, K/10.5 or 6.5 mm hook

This is about the most novel novelty hat of the season. Im willing to be sillyI even have one of those springy Whoville hatsbut I dont think Im brave enough to wear this in public. Im not opposed to weird, but I am opposed to gaudy. Who knows, maybe the next trend will be an Ugly Hat contest instead of the usual sweater.

This Light Me Up Christmas Tree Hat is so cute and a quite different idea for a hat. I like that the pattern is well written and easy to follow, there is also a video for the ones who needs a help with it. I also wish there was a picture of someone wearing the hat. I seen the lights at the dollar store the other day, I need to go back. Looking forward to whipping this one up. Thank you for sharing this free crochet hat pattern.

Frankly, I would like to have seen a person wearing the hat so that I could tell what it actually looks like on someone! I think overall, the hat is a really cute and novel idea for parties and family gatherings. Might even be a great gift to give for an entire family for holiday photos. I personally would pick a different color for the band along the bottom, as that cranberry color kinda sticks out like a sore thumb. Maybe stay with green. ??
