With all due respect, these snow swirls are definitely not an intermediate crochet pattern. The only thing that MIGHT qualify as intermediate is the fact that it uses a very small hook and crochet thread. The pattern itself is just three steps and you're done, using only single crochets. Don't be afraid of trying this!

We opted to go with a more homemade look with our decorations this year. I was struggling to find something to replace the usual tinsel draping down, and these crocheted icicles will certainly do the trick. What I especially like is they can be made in various lengths just like the real thing. Im thinking of working them up in both white and special holiday yarnwhite with silver threadsfor a bit of extra sparkle.

These are really the simplest ornaments to make, but they make a big impact on your Christmas tree! They can be made in white as shown, or in any colour that suits your colour scheme. You could even crochet them with sparkly yarn to add a special touch to your ornaments. Crocheting a set would make a nice gift for someone celebrating the holidays in their first home!

Love your idea of using sparkly yarn to make these ornaments, that would make the tree sparkle especially with the lights on! I'm going to make a ton of these so my young daughter can help decorate the tree this year!
