Afghan Stitch Bookmark
This is a tunisian crochet pattern that you can make over and over again. A bookmark does not take long to crochet and it's very easy. This requires Lustersheen yarn.
Crochet HookG/6 or 4 mm hook

Dont let the bare bones look of this bookmark fool you. Think of it as the perfect blank canvas to embellish with cross stitch, surface crochet, or whatever you choose. The author has chosen a simple scallop edging, and it would be easy to add ribbon or a yarn tassel to one end. I always appreciate a project that allows me to add my own ideas without changing the integrity of the original design.

I love the look of this Afghan Stitch Bookmark. I sent a e-mail to the blogger asking her to fix the missing return pass in the pattern. With that being in the written pattern it will come out great! I'll be making a few of these and give as gifts when I give books. Love reading this is a must have. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.

I think this is a great idea but I agree that the instructions need work. I Googled the afghan/Tunisian stitch which really helped. It is the return pass row that is missing.

This has got to be the worst direction I have ever seen for an easy pattern. From the sound of this there is no crochet involved, just 30 some loops on a crochet hook, which is not going to happen.

the directions for this pattern are incorrect. after 10 loops on hook you can not complete. please advise.

Since this is tunisian crochet, what's missing is the "return pass" between Rows 1 and 2. Row 1 is the "forward pass" that places the 10 loops on the hook. The "return pass" is the second step of tunisian crochet and removes the 10 loops on the hook. It might be easier for you if you watch a free tutorial (perhaps on youtube.com?) that explains this stitch better than I can. . .(smile!) Hopefully you still read these notes. . .
