I am not finding this project at back to school time, but it is just the beginning of Fall and owls seem to be very popular still. This is a cute idea for any time of the year for the owl lover that you know. This is a very colorful cozy. I wouldnt want it to be for an apple cover so I would just stuff it and sew the bottom.

If owls are not your thing, the designer has additional fruit cozies that may be more to your liking. I would have loved to have this for my kids lunches back in elementary school. There is nothing better than a piece of fresh clean fruit. These by the way would be great in an adults lunch bag as well.

I agree. Owls have a following this year for some reason. I have seen owls in several television commercials from everything to college ads to eye wear. This little bitty is adorable and would be a welcome addition to any lunch bag to project that fresh apple. Perhaps make the owl in a more masculine color if for a boy though.

According to my kids, I am totally owl obsessed, too. It probably has something to do with my childhood fascination with the Greek goddess of wisdom! This adorable cozy was a welcome addition to my work desk, but I have to confess, its never seen an apple. I stuffed it instead so I could enjoy my little masterpiece year round! Such a clever little project.

OMG how cute is this Owl Obsessed Crochet Cozy. I love it and the directions are so well written and a easy read. I have a few friends who are obsessed with owls and this would make a perfect gift. I seen plastic apples at the dollar store the other day, I'll have to go back and buy some for this great crochet item. I can't wait to get started on this..
