This is a great idea, and a wonderful scrap buster, too. The designer uses a very simple three round version of a granny, but you could use the same size swatch of any stitch you want, making it more of a sensory block. I made a Bobble Stitch version using different colors on each side. If youre looking for alphabet letters, look here https//www.allfreecrochet.com/Home-Decorating/The- == Complete-Crocheted-Alphabet

This is a very good idea. But I took it to one step further. My grand daughters name is Abby. So I made four blocks and put each letter of her name on a block. I embroidered them on. They came out perfectly and I am hopping it will get her into rev igniting her name on sight.

I love the Baby Block out of a Granny Square idea. But my problem is trying to 'block' it. It isn't square...lol...it's more like a ball. Which is still okay, but I'd like a to know how you made it a block. Thank you!! Cheri

There's a great set of links in the tutorial that demonstrate how you can make the pattern into a block. Hope this helps, Kathryn, editor of AllFreeCrochet
