Good pattern, easy to follow- but the yarn brand DEFINITELY makes a difference. I used Joann's Sensation Cuddle yarn (which is light- 3 weight) and my hat came out 4" high and a little over 5" wide at the bottom. I am a loose crocheter, so I know it's not my stitches. I guess I have a hat for a preemie now ;)

Please take another look at your directions. You end up with only 36 stitches around for your hat. Granted, I do crochet very tightly. But no baby I have seen has a head so small that 36 stitches would fit. And where are the directions for your brim?

Afternoon, I have double checked the pattern that is right. The sizing comes out just fine. The brim is part of the length and is simply folded up. The brim isn't a separate entity or process for the hat. It's just a simple HDC Hat with no bells or whistles. Thanks for your comments, sorry the pattern isn't working out for you. Michael
