Delicate Lace Bonnet
"Make a darling Delicate Lace Bonnet for that special little one in your life. A baby bonnet is one of my favorite things to crochet and gift to new parents. They work up fast and effortlessly, and they allow me to really put my creativity to work with different stitches and textures. For this darling lace bonnet I used one of my favorite lace yarns, Patons Lace Sequin in the color Moonstone. It is delicate and pairs beautifully with the shell stitch used in this pattern. If you have used Patons Lace yarn before, you are probably familiar with the unique texture it creates. As you can see in the photos, the yarn is slightly fuzzy, making it perfect for larger hooks. In fact, I find that using a 6.5 mm hook with this yarn creates a near perfect lace look while still being comfortable to crochet. Patons Lace Sequin comes in 12 colors, mostly warm and cool pastels, making it perfect for a newborn gift or photo prop. You may also substitute with Patons Lace (a similar yarn without the sequins) which comes in 11 different colors including my favorite: self-striping colorways."

This bonnet is so easy to work up. I had a day of running errands, so I took this pattern along to work on. With the exception of the ties (I chose ribbon instead of the yarn), it took well less than an hour to complete. On other addition I made was to slip stitch pink around the edge of the bonnet. Once I got back home, I added the ribbon and ribbon roses, although you could just use crochet ties and flowers.

First for Member2131143, click the " Click here for this Crochet Pattern" tab and scroll down for the pattern. That being said, I love this beautiful shell stitched Delicate Lace Bonnet. The pattern is well written and comes out beautifully. I made one in yellow and one in pink. They came out great! Wish I could include a photo but can't get them off my phone. Thank you for this beautiful free pattern.
