Crochet Owl Hat
Make your newborn a cute little Crochet Owl Hat. The braided tails are a great way to help keep the hat on baby's head. Free crochet hats like this are great to make as gifts, especially for a baby shower.

I cant believe that after all the many Owl hats Ive made using this pattern, I never thought to comment on it. If you cant tell by looking, this funny little hat gets compliments wherever it goes. It is so easy to work up and works well for tiny children as well as adults. I even adapted the basic pattern to create mascot hats for one of our local universities. If you work any sort of animal hat, you need this one in your repetoire.

This is probably still one of my favorite patterns Sarah Zimmerman has created. Its cute, easy and quick to work up. Every time someone see the hat they want one. Owls are really popular which makes this a great gift or charity project. This pattern is definitely free abd it isnt actually a download. It is posted to the blog.

Not sure how or where jjlongo got off track, but this pattern is available for free and you dont even have to join. The link takes you to the designers blog and there is where you can print or save the pattern. I have made one of the hats and the pattern was very easy to follow along to.

I like the fact that the pattern is free, but it is not really free because I have to join for a fee in order to down load and print the pattern and I am not in a position to do this. OH well I guess it is not totally free.

That's interesting because I just signed up about 3 weeks ago and I haven't paid for anything. I have a lot of free patterns from this site. Maybe you veered off onto an unrelated site.

thank you for the pattern, I can't wait to make these. although, I had a lot of trouble to access the pattern and try to print it. The site was very slow, I had trouble just scrolling down to look at the pattern, not sure why. No problem with the AllFreeCrochet site.

I have made 7 of these, they are so cute and so easy to work up, even the sleepy looking one was not to hard. I'm using the same hat pattern for a lot of different looks. Thanks to who ever shared this pattern
