Pom Pom Flip Flops
Are you looking to spice up your plain old flip flops? Use this free crochet pattern to make some pom pom flip flops; be the envy of all your friends.
Crochet HookF/5 or 3.75 mm hook
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)
Materials:
- 760-133 Lion Cotton Yarn: 1 Paprika ball
- 760-134 Lion Cotton Yarn: 1 Avocado ball
- Lion Brand Crochet Hook - Size F-5
- Large-Eye Blunt Needles (Set of 6)
- Pom pom Maker
- Purchased flip flops
GAUGE:
16 single crochet = 4 in. (10 cm). EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT.
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES:
To change color, work last stitch of first color until you are ready to make the last yarn over. Yarn over with new color, pull new color through all loops on hook to finish making the stitch. Carry yarn not in use along the side of your work.
STRAP WRAP (make 2 for each flip flop)
With A, chain 7.
Row 1: Single crochet in 2nd chain from hook and in each chain across - 6 single crochet.
Row 2: Chain 1, turn, single crochet in each stitch across. Change to B.
Rows 3 and 4: Chain 1, turn, single crochet in each stitch across.
Continue working in single crochet, alternating 2 rows A with 2 rows B until piece is the same length as one side of strap. Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail.
FINISHING
Fold Strap Wrap over each strap and sew together using yarn tails. Use Pom pom maker and 1 strand each of A and B to make 2 pompoms. Sew pompom onto Wrap. Weave in ends.

These pom pom flip flops are just adorable. However, an item like this left on the floor in my house would soon be demolished by my busy cat. However, they are just too cute not to make at least one pair. Perhaps if I make a pom pom for the cat, he will leave the ones on my flip flops alone, maybe.

A project can not be any easier than this. What a fun way to up-cycle an inexpensive item so that your flip flops can match all those cute summer outfits. This pattern is for the pom pom. Looking for the other shoe pattern and have not been able to find it. If you are so lucky please share a post.

I have a pair of inexpensive flip flops that I tried to embellish with satin roses, that I hot glued on. The 1st time I wore them I lost half the flowers, so I was bummed, then I found this pattern and I am going to get me some more inexpensive flip flops and make them to match all my summer outfits. Thanks for your great patterns. I constantly have something being made at all times.
