Retro Summer Rug

I like that this retro summer rug is made with Premier Yarns Craft-Tee Recycled T-Shirt Yarn, but I have a much better idea. I have a lot of old tee-shirts that my youngsters have outgrown and I would love to re-purpose them. So I have look up how to make "yarn" from tee shirts and I plan to start from scratch on this one. Thanks for the crochet pattern design.

Rugs are a great way to use up scrap yarn, and really gauge isn't that important, since most are made going around and around. You can just keep the increases up until it is the size you want. This pattern is made with bulky yarn, which works up quicker, but because gauge isn't terribly important you could use any weight or type of yarn you want.

Fantastic how the center of this retro summer rug begins in the shape of an oval and as it is work outwards there are spiky points. I really like this pattern and intend to make it. I want to crochet one that I can have on each side of the bed. Thanks for the free pattern.

Wow! That is a sizeable rug! It measures 24" by 42" . Quite surprised by that. We use a jersey tee shirt yarn and a size "Q" hook, which I do not have. Guess I will have to buy one because I see so many patterns that use the big, big hooks like this one. Cute retro rug. Nice colors.
