I have been looking for crochet ring patterns from the late 60's early 70's. My mother made several of them but someone showed her how to make them. She is now 87 yrs. and doesn't remember how to make them. If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it.

I have been looking for a 70s afghan pattern that was originally offered in a Family Circle magazine. It had full circles down the middle and then partials going out to the sides. It was shown in brown, black and white. It was a timelss design and would be wonderful for today. Anyone have the pattern?

My grandma taught me how to make the circular trivet about 35 years ago. At that time she taught me with the plastic 6-pack beverage rings,m cut apart to form the base for the outside rings. I still them to this day. They just wear and wear. If you don't have the plastic beverage rings, you could substitute the outside ring from margarine or cream cheese tubs. I would recommend having some type of plastic in there though to give the trivet more stability. She used to make place mats and jingle bell door hangers from this basic pattern too.
