Gorgeous pattern and wonderful story. Hopefully the original recipient has regained her health. No photos but a very nice diagram showing how to alternate the Double and Front Post Double Crochet as you work the individual rounds. Special kudos for not only posting a link to one of the designers favorite charities, but also the tips and information about what types of yarn to use (and NOT use).

I found it difficult to follow this pattern; for instance, round 3 increases to 2 dc before the FPdc, round 4 increases to 3 dc, then instructions say to repeat Round 4 - if you look at the diagram, round 5 has 4 dc before the FPdc giving me the impression that there should be an increase in the dc each round to make the circumference bigger. Also, I don't see any instructions for the band of single crochet. Sandy Lawson (sandra_lawson_455@comcast.net)

would love to crochet this but i have so much trouble with the site. not sure why??? i have tried and tried but can't get to the pattern. whats the secret? what am i missing?

I just click on the green words that say Click here for crochet pattern. It opens in another window. Here is the http address for when it opens: http://crochetchiq.blogspot.com/2012/12/marissas-slouchy.html

Definitely should change the name of this hat but it is cute...

Where's the slouch? Cute hat, but not a slouchy.
