Red Hot Sun Hat
Protect yourself from the bright sun with this summer hat pattern. Whether you're heading to the beach or running errands around town, be sure you have this Red Hot Sun Hat on your head. It's also the perfect crocheted hat to wear for the Kentucky Derby because of the big, fashionable brim. It's an intermediate hat pattern to crochet using any color yarn and a little bit of nylon hat wire. This particular crochet pattern was written to fit an adult woman.

Well, the mystery of what kind of yarn is used just got even more confusing. In the comments section of the crochet blog, you will see that someone asked the question should I use Peaches 'n Cream yarn (a stiffer cotton) or the "I Love THis Cotton" by Hobby Lobby? The answer- either one of those yarns would work but neither of those yarns will work because the pattern calls for a DK weight and those are worsted weight. Well!?

Hi, Thanks for your message. I believe either yarn (cotton and regular) would work just fine for this pattern; it's a personal preference :) I hope this helps! -editors of AllFreeCrochet
