This green market bag is truly, literally green! I have seen, in my time, dozens and dozens of market bags, and they are all great in their own way. Basically, just choose the one that speaks to you the most. This color combo is not my favorite, but the pattern is on point. I'd just switch up my color choices.

I really like the look of this tote, especially with the alternating colors. I also like the fact that it does not have a completely open pattern. I feel that the bands of colors add more support. Stores are starting to do away the plastic bags so I have been making totes. They are stronger as a rule as well. This will go on my list. Thank you.

The only problem I see with this pattern is it does not say how wide it is. So I wonder, am I going to be able to put my laptop computer in it ? I believe a tote pattern should disclose full size when posted. If I don't see how tall and how wide I skip it and this is a really cool looking tote. Thanks

Hi Dorie, For this tote you start with a starting chain of 31 stitches, so that should give you an idea of how wide it is. :) Thanks! Julia, editor for AllFreeCrochet

You can never have enough totes! Am I right? I always need a tote for something and try to keep an empty one handy at all times. Keeping an empty one is usually the problem though because they get filled up so quickly. This one would be great for larger items. Would be great for beach towels.

This bag would be another great alternative to using plastic bags for when you went grocery shopping or to the farmers market. Using this bag would be a great way to go green, and you make a few of these and sell them and donate the money to your favorite local charity.
